dimanche 22 avril 2018 à 01:28

Sazernyst  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  plays  an  occult  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2016  demo  "Worshipping  The  Ancient  Fears  Of  God".

A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  demo  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  using  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  songs  a  more  raw  feeling  and  the  vocals  are  all  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

Dark  sounding  melodies  can  also be  heard  in  some  of  the  riffing  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  fashion  as  well  as  most  of  the  tracks  being  long  and  epic  in  length  and  a  couple  of  tracks  also  introduces  clean  playing  and  death  metal  growls  onto  the  recording.

Sazernyst  plays  a  music  of  occult  black  metal  that  is  very  heavy,  raw  and  traditional  sounding,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Ancient  Occultism,  Witchcraft  and  Evocative  Ritual  themes.

In  my  opinion  Sazernyst  are  a  very  great  sounding  occult  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Forest  Of  Sorceries"  and  "The  Mand  Who  Dominated  Demons".  8  out  of  10.

Dunnock/Little Stories Told By Ghosts/Acephale Winter/2018 CD Review

dimanche 22 avril 2018 à 00:14

California's  Dunnock  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  mixing  raw,  atmospheric  and  lo-fi  black  metal  with  some  elements  of  noise,  punk,  garage  and  psychedelia  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  album  "Little  Stories  Told  By  Ghosts"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  Acephale  Winter.

Filed  recordings  and  ambient  style  soundscapes  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  clean  playing  a  few  seconds  later  while  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  and  avant  garde  at  times  as  well  as  the  synths  also  giving  the  songs  more  of  an  atmospheric  feeling  and  spoken  word  parts  are  also  used  on  some  of  the  tracks.

All  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  music  also  brings  in  a  great  amount  of  harsh  noise  elements  while  the  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  during  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  as  well  as  the  music  also  bringing  in  a  great  amount  of  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  psychedelic  elements  along  with  some  70's  to  80's  era  dance  music  samples  and  synth  pop  influences  also  being  used  briefly  as  well  as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  some  songs  also  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  guitar  leads  and  all  of  the  tracks  sound  very  different  from each  other  and  acoustic  guitars  are  added  onto  the  closing  song.

On  this  recording  Dunnock  keeps  the  black  metal  elements  while  also  adding  in  more  noise,  experimental,  avant  garde,  synth  pop,  psychedelic  and  ambient  elements  to  create  an  album  that  cannot  be  categorized,  the  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  are  a  concept  album  based  upon  four  fictionalized  murders  of  bodies  found  near  waters.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Dunnock  and  if  you are  a  fan  of  black  metal  and  experimental  music,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Young  Boy's  Body - Deretis  Playground  - 1996"  and  "Middle  Aged  Man's  Body  -  Fish  Creek  -  2002".  8  out  of 10.

Flame Acausal Interview

samedi 21 avril 2018 à 19:21
1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
Noone needs to know anything about us. Individuals are not important for the cause and the cause is acausal so is the dark flame within all true devotees of Satan and Lilith! We are Black Metal! That is Maybe something that the folks and fiends of the so-called Black Metal scene has forgotten what it sounds like in todays by political correctness and human values saturated shit scene. Black Metal Is Intolerant for it constitutes Total Freedom! But total freedom also entails being freed from All Human morals and values. We sound like the End for we are of It! A foul spawn-spark of the Abyss! FUCK HUMANITY AND EVERY CELL OF IT BURNING WITHIN YOUR BY ITS POISONS OF MORALITY INDOCTRINATED MINDS! FOR THIS IS TRUE BLACK METAL AND WE FUCKING PISS ON ALL CORPSES! WITHIN THAT LIES TRUE EQUALITY! BEFORE THE SCYHTE WE ARE ALL EQUAL! PEACE AND MORALS HAVE MADE YOU WEAK AND YOUR HUMANISTIC VALUES, YOUR HIGH HORSES AND FOUL RIGHTESOUNESS HAVE DEFEATED YOU AND MADE YOUR BLACK METAL TURN INTO SHIT! TIME TO CLAIM IT BACK! HAIL SATAN!
2.So far you have released a demo, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?

As the sound of all atrocities you can fathom and the maddened laughter of the sadistic executioners as s/he stands grinning on piles of naked bodies overshadowed by a mountain of human skulls! Nothing but pure untamed and unadulterated bestial urges drove us to spew forth our hatred and devotion via these holy gospels of destruction. Such urges, lusts and needs have been, and always will remain, the foundation and cornerstones of the shunned temple of True Black Metal! To praise the Devil and fuck old gaia!

3.So far in the 5 years that you have been around, there has only been one demo released, can you tell us a little bit more about it?

History is unimportant. Time is just a construct, Satan is Not! We/our Black Metal have described as minimalistic Black Metal which suits us well for that in combination with our fierce devotion our Black Metal becomes a flaming sword! We attain to be enlightened sages ‘yes that is blood on my shirt, its ok I am enlightened’. And to embody the warrior mage ideal, that is: when the circumstances change the warrior adapt, when the world need to adapt the mage change it in accordance with the will of his Gods! The demo? I tell you about the demo. Inwards Damnation is a description of how to quicken and hasten the black inner AlKhemia, the lyric is influenced by August Strindberg’s letters regarding his own alchemical work and Inferno crisis ‘Do you think I made gold for turning attention to me or the Others? No, for the ruin of the world! How can´t you see for Destruction it was done?’ as well as the notion of the search for our God and the yearning to be dissolved in the embrace of the corrosive waters described within the tractate ‘The Hermetic Tradition’. However the lyrics is primarily based on a poem by Karin Boye ‘My God and His truth I saw in a sacred moment, the words and commandments of their gods fell silent in a state of petrifying awe. My God was Salt, Darkness and Despair, My truth was steel!’. The other lyrics are based on such various yet classical themes and authors as; Baudelaire in ‘Cruel and Implacable’. An invocation to Set Tyfon Apep in  included in full extent within the hymn of tumultuous shrapnel which constitutes: ‘Thus I invoke Thee’. The ferocious nature of man, beast, wolf and snake is reflected in the accursed ‘Shunned Wolves’. Half of that lyric was written in 1999 by a brother in war and the latter half taken from testimonies of possessed members of an acclaimed heretical sect dealt with in one of, if not, the first Papal Bulls against Witchcraft during the reign of Constantine. The testimony included first how the sect members have described how Satan came to them and took over control: ‘The Devil spoke to me “Be not afraid only become my instrument and I will give your tongue a word by which thou shall deceiveth all!’ and then followed by the long speech of his daemon as the kin of the Snake and he describes the actions of his kinsmen throughout the history of man, part of this speech was printed in the demon inlay ‘I am the offspring of the race of the Serpent, I am son of Him who hurt and struck the four brothers that stood; I am son of Him who sits on the throne of Destruction, … I am son of that Apostate who encircles the globe; I am kinsman to Him who is outside of the ocean, whose tail lies in His mouth; I am He who went into paradise through the hedge, and spoke with Eve what my Father bade me speak to her; I am He who inflamed and fired Cain to kill his brother …. I am He who inflamed Judas, and bought him, that he should betray Christ; I am He who inhabits and holds the Abyss of Tartarus, I am the kinsman of Him who is to come from the east, to whom also power has been given to do whatever He will upon the earth!’

4.The lyrics on the demo had a lot of Satanic, Devil Worship and Alchemy, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest, studies and practices in the black arts?

TO BE A SATANIST YOU MUST BE A DEVILWORSHIPPER! In addition to that you can not play Black Metal and not be a Satanist. I am primarily a Black Magician and Black Metal is only a by-product and one of the many expressions and outlets of my life as a religious man. I am not belonging to those morons that says fuck all religions! I have probably more in common with a devout christian or hindu than the foul creatures pestering our scene with their hollow atheistic ideals. Black Magic? My practise? It is neither an interest nor a choice. It’s what I live it’s what I love, it’s what I daily and nightly do! Do not practise the Black Arte, become it! Hail Satan! I can spend upwards to 14 hours a day in the ritualchamber. The Left Hand Path is indeed a blessed curse and after 25 years as a Devilworshipper you are really in so deep that one looses track if there ever was such a thing as free will involved. We do the deeds of our Father and we are in perfect unity when we serve as vessels for His will and sing the psalms of hatred! The rest of the time we are shells, husks. To answer the first part, yes it’s about isolation, for we are the shunned satanic wolves of the apostate, werewolves. The human features we wear are our masks. Black Metal and Vāmācāra are The most lonely of paths ever walked, everyone who says something else are lying to themselves and the world. To each one the path unique.

5.You also had some lyrics that deal with the darker side of the Egyptian Gods, how would you describe your interest in this ancient religion?

I eclectically steal wisdom from all religions I do not have a deeper interest in that than in the Greek or Hebrew religion that I find more apt to draw influences from. That said the Set Tyfon Apep invocation is very powerful and is a complete ritual put to music. This our Black Metal for Him and Her is not music I would personally use for the ritual myself, but our Black Metal well reflects the experiences I have had with this tumultuous power. For my rites I utilize Arktau Eos, Coil and Necros Christos Temples and Gates for example. The Black Metal we live take us to the most strange, shunned and isolated places, within ourselves and in all worlds, thus it can lead us anywhere. However the Black Metal we channel up from Hell and into the divided Abyss of our three black hearts of Damnation to churn within our blood of Perdition that is the Wine of Satan, that, yes that sacred form of foul Black Metal as with any fireblessed explosion cant change its destiny and essence but only need to find ways and means for outward direction, so unless we just direct it internally in a fashion of inward damnation and then implode and die, it, instead, will turn outwards and then its directed power and violence should be inflicted on us and others, unto one and All... verily even unto YOU dear reader!!!
6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the demo?

Visionis Phosphorescent is an India-based Russian artist devoted to the exploration of occult traditions via her art, with a focus on eastern Left Hand Path ones. Her main interests are connected with the occult sciences (Eastern and Western traditions), psychology and philosophy. I hold both her and her man in high regard. Their knowledge is profound and based in living reality and active tradition.  Our album cover and inner art was the time Visionis Phosphorescent was featured on a release and we think the art, music and intent made for a perfect synergy.  Support Visionis Phosphorescent!

7.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Flame Acausal'?

The best answer here is that the readers should search out this for themselves. And not expect things to be served on silver plates, Wikipedia or web-forums. The inspiration are the 288 divine sparks in the Abyss, our Father the Opposer and our Mother the Destroyer. Also isolation plays a huge part in our minds. We are isolated in so many ways, both geographically cause there is no scene even remotely close to here and even within the Black Metal scene, we in some aspects belong to, we are isolated but most of all isolated as hermits. Like Euronymous said ‘there is an Abyss between us’. We are part of the resistance movement, we are world haters and life betrayers, we worship a ‘flame that batheth the World in cold desolation, and burneth 'til naught but the Isolate stand!’. The definition of the acausal Flame, is to be found within the Black Light, such as: Botsina de-qardinuta and the Black Magic I practise and most into Black Metal Should already know what this means especially if one toss around terms like occult, magic and religious.

8. A: What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far? B: how would you describe your stage performance?

A: Best response were in Fukushima, Hiroshima, Babylon and then Nagasaki. B: a mix of Nagasaki, Fukushima, the Tsunami of 2004 and Hiroshima.

9.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

Yes! We have had an honouring tour offering from Irkallian Oracle to be the opening act for them. Alas we could not make it. Plans for the future? The End is now! There is No Future! Only ravenous Death! Nikanor Teratologen, George Bataille, Thomas Ligotti, Cormac McCarthy and James Havoc I see as some of the most important voices of our generation of Kali Yuga which will hopefully be the last generation!

10.I have noticed that the band stays away from the social networks, do you feel metal needs to go back to the underground days where bands never relied on the internet and just let the music speak for itself?

No Metal needs to do no thing at all. Its all cyclical, a perpetual rise and fall. I welcome everything about Kali Yuga and I think that the internet is great for sharing and spreading books and music. But for us in Flame Acausal it just feels fuckin silly, at least right now for us to have a fuckin fb-page. What for? For likes? I fuckin hate the scene and No ego should be boasted by likes from anyone! I hate humanity and I fuckin Hate the world. We do this for Satan!  Contra Mundum in aeternum! BURN! FTW 666!!!

11.The demo is getting re-issued by Regain Records, Blood Harvest Records, and Helter Skelter Productions, can you tell us a little bit more about the deal you have worked out with these labels?

I have no idea. Regain Records contacted us and have supported our war crimes and quest. Also their propaganda-machine seems to work well and we get some good interviews. Psychedelic Lotus Order and GoatowaRex released the vinyl version, which sold out fast. Now I heard they had some few vinyl copies for sale again so check out goatowarex.storenvy.com/products/18319166-flame-acausal-contra-mundum-in-aeternum-12  The CD will be released on June 8th, I had hoped for it to be out on Walpurgisnacht but anyhow. Order it via bloodharvestrecords.bandcamp.com/album/contra-mundum-in-aeternum At the time of the interview it appears as that out of the 500 CDs only 40 copies remains since they had opened up for the possibility to already place pre-orders. Thus act fast ye drug-fiends and life foes of the Underground! On a sidenote I saw that Blood Harvest released the Cardinal Sin M-LP on tape now. And I wish to remind the readers that though the inevitable demise of Uncle Charlie his acts, words and intents lives on. Helter Skelter on the modern world until the Dragon lets loose its tail! ‘And I get to the bottom and I see you again’!

12.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of war and black metal?

Good, almost as good as the sound of ‘ten thousand exterminating angels!’

13.When can we expect new music and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

No idea, but everyone can expect to die and so can we! That is where we are heading. Further down the Abyss!

14.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Maybe Bestial Warlust and Nifelheim? I don’t compose music, I don’t understand music and I have no idea of the influences of our Kommendant because we don’t socialize, we don’t talk. We play Black Metal and Worship Satan!
I listen to Black Witchery, Poison, Funeral Mist, Slaughtbbath, Bestial Warlust, No Future, Taphos, Watain, Saltas, Void Meditation Cult, Nyogthaeblisz, Destroyer 666, Necrovore, Acrimonious, Angelcorpse, Order form Chaos, Incantation, Mystifier, Bathory, Venom and Trepaneringsritualen.  Two disgusting covens I respect from the bottom of my foul and lying heart are the Third Eye Rapists and Morbid Insulter! Search them out and DIE!
15.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Wake up! Time to Die!

Infamy Interview

samedi 21 avril 2018 à 19:10
1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Yeah of course! INFAMY was born in 2011 on the ashes of other projects while we were listening to «Apocalyptic Raids» by HELLHAMMER and drinking beers (we are quite sure that most metal bands have been created this way. Cheers diehards!!!). Few days later we played our first song «Unfortunately you’re not dead yet».

2.Recently you have released your first full length, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from your 2 previous demos?

We wished that «A world on its end» sounds spontaneous and live. We didn’t want to use trigg’ or other kinds of artifices. We play old Black Metal and have the desire to perpetuate the tradition, to try to remain the most faithful of the recording methods of bands like BATHORY, DARKTHRONE, CELTIC FROST and so many others at their beginning. That’s why we chose and enjoyed working on this album with Fog at Le Caveau Studio. He immediately convinced us with his vision of music and the means he could provide us especially an analog recording. He has been like the third member of the band!

All differs from our two demos to our album. Six years have passed since our first demo so our relationship to music and our expectations have evolved. We also made a lot of tries before finding the good sound of the guitar and the bass, for the demos there was not this process.

3.The band members also have a background in death metal but with this band goes for more of a black metal style, how would you compare the 2 different styles?

Great!!! You make your investigation before contacting bands, good job guy! The definition of any musical style is personal because it’s a matter of feeling first and foremost. Both styles are an artistic interpretation of Death, Hate and Frustation of today’s world executed in different ways. Generally heavier and fat for the Death Metal, colder and grim for the Black Metal. We appreciate Death Metal as much as Black Metal, only the result is important : they form a real osmosis between them.

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you explore with the new release?

It will be so pleasant to see the human kind dominated and crushed by the Wild when he thinks he is superior. How can we pretend to be so smart face to the Elements? As we know a shit has no brain. It will be a deserved feedback.

5.One of your tracks is titled 'Black metal is Dead', which some underground purists would agree with, what do you feel is missing in modern black metal?

We don’t pretend to have the infused science but it’s true «Black Metal is dead» seeks the modern scene. People who feel concerned will surely treat us of fucking archaic assholes or fucking pretentious elitists we don’t care! We don’t want to forget where Black Metal comes from!!! The old bands like VENOM and BATHORY get the «Fuck you all spirit» and were more interesting than all of these bands who take themselves too seriously and just play as quickly as possible. The speed doesn’t make necessarily the brutality and the image of these bands is often misleading.

6.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Infamy'?

The definition of this word is very explicit… To tell the truth, Vincent was listening to MLP «Lead us into darkness» by DEMONIC and the word «Infamy», shouted out just before a monumental riff, has explosed in his ears and it was the revelation! It’s as simple as that!!!

7.Can you tell us a little bit more about the noose that is presented in the logo?

The logo has evolved over time. The first logo had lightning, the noose and two crossed axes, we removed the axes on the second, removed the lightning to keep only the noose on the third then finally we handed the lightning to get the current logo. The hanged knot… maybe because it’s the only way to die that gives one last pleasure to ejaculate. Or maybe because the crows can feed on the eyeballs of the hangman, symbol of the reflection of the soul. Is it not a good illustration of Death?

8.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

There is not really a best show on the other hand there are a lot of great memories : the honour to have shared the stage with AURA NOIR (a gig planned by scattered team of Underground Propaganda), a first concert with INFINITE TRANSLATION/DARK MANAGARM/CHILDREN OF DOOM/EVISCERATION, an unforgettable after party with thirty people in a flat of fourty square meters in Rennes. We can’t give the details it will be too long. How describe our gigs? A boiling rage in guts, a larsen to introduce each song, no communication with the audience, smelling sweat and a beer next to us. «Raw, simply, and ugly» like said the swedish band TYRANT… UH!ç

9.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

Indeed we have a gig in a few months but we can’t talk about it because it will be done under illegal conditions. A height after two years of absence on the stage, no? The situation makes us laugh…

10.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

Initially Shaxul (Legion of Death) was interested in producing our album but some difficulties (fuck off downloading that kills the underground labels!!!) prevented him. So he put us in touch with Shota of Hidden Marly Productions. After some email exchanges we agreed on a deal. In summer of this year will release a japanese edition of «A world on its end». We salute you guys!!!

11.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?

We have not yet had the opportunity to play beyond the French borders. However the album is very well distributed in France, Germany, Italy, USA and soon in Japan. Hope it’s a question of time before meeting and talking with fans of Black Metal from other countries.

12.What is going on with 'Evisceration' and 'Mass Grave' these days?

R.I.P! It was nice to play in these bands and we have good memories. Nothing more to say.

13.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Who knows what the future holds? What is certain is that we will always play with sincerity. We will never turn back, we grew up and forged our way of life around metal. Our spirit is irradiated by this musical kind and it would be unnatural to play something else!!!

14.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

We listen to all extreme metal kinds. We don’t search to sound like the bands we like. We think that an influence is unconscious and so inevitable. Some people told us have noted some similarities with CELTIC FROST, DARKTHRONE, BETHLEHEM for example and a touch of dirty punk.

15.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

First of all thanks to you  for this interview!!! We also want to salute all metalhead activists who support INFAMY :
