1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new album?
We've been preparing for the live shows with the new line-up. Everything is going well, last two gigs were awesome.

2.Recently you have released a new album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
The goals is still the same: making the music we like without concession. I would say that is album is definitely more varied and more personal, as we gain experience !

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?
With “Pillars of Detest”, lyrics are very very metaphorical. Every one can make his own mind.
Even for me, the interpretation of it isn't really accurate. I like pushing people to think about it and make their own interpretation. That's what I like when it comes to art. Previous albums and Eps were conceptual's, Pillars of Detest is not.

4.On some of your older material you had covered Rennes le Chateau and its secrets, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in this topic and also do you also have an interest in any other esoteric subjects?
The big word about Rennes le Chateau would be “Mystery”. There would be a treasure there that could shake the monotheist beliefs. I like this idea. Vatican offered a lot of money to Saunière for hidding this secret. Today, no one knows what it is all about.
I have interest for a lot of other esoteric subjects, but I'll keep it for future releases.

5.Originally the band started out as a solo project, what was the decision behind forming a full line up?
I believe that Moonreich's music wouldn't make any sens if we couldn't develop it's energy in front of people. It is still the case, I like recording, I like listening to music at home. But the real power of music takes shape when it is played live to me. That's why I decided to form a complete line up. I don't have any regret, specially with the new members. New songs are souding great on stage.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
The last one we played in Tours was amazing, big energy there, pure agression ! You can always expect this at a Moonreich's gig !

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the new album?
Yes, we are looking forward a french headlining tour right now. We will also be playing at Hellfest 2016 !

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your newer music by fans of black metal?
Well, this new album has been very well welcomed by medias and fans. We are really proud of it but don't pay attention too much, we make music for ourselves above all.   

9.Are any of the band members also involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?
Yes, some of us are involved in others projects, our guitarist for exemple plays in a band called “Griffon”. Our drummer also plays in bands, but they never released anything.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

I don't really know, I will always compose music that pleases me according to my tastes in the instant.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
I listen to a lot a varied music. From rock to classical music,  some post-rock; some movie music. When it comes to music, I don't have any fronteer. This is very important to me, when it comes to composition. Every sort of music can inspire me !   

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

We are working on our new album at the moment and it should be out in the beginning of 2016. I can already reveal to you the new album title. Our second album will be called "Cathedral of the Black Cult".

2.Last year you had released an album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented
 on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff the band members have done with their previous or current bands or projects?

The musical sound would be best described as 90's black metal with modern production.
We wanted to present the old school black metal on which we've grown up with a modern sound. We want to keep that old spirit intact. True black metal how we fell it should sound nowadays. Some of our previous and present bands/projects differ more, some less. When it comes to Gorthaur's Wrath we can draw
a lot of parallels concerning the sound. This was the first band Insanus and me formed much earlier then Black Cult but since that time a lot of line up changes followed and with every new member came new and different ideas. So there are notable differences as well as similarities between those two bands.
There is Ashes you leave, our lead guitarist's main band, and we're talking some serious gothic doom here.
Again we can go back to the past with all five of the Black cult members and there you could again find some connections to the sounds or ideas but not completely the same as the Cult. Castrum, Unholy Inquisition, Hibernum, Svitogor,Mysterium, Czaar,Heathen mysticism, Nekrist and Kult Perunov. Here is the complete list for anyone interested in Croatian black metal and metal scene in general. This could be an interesting matter.


3.Your lyrics cover a lot of satanic topics, what is the type of Satanism that you bring out in the song lyrics
 on the album?

For us Satanism is a completely individual philosophy. There is truth in works of Aliester Crowley, A.Lavey and many others but it's up to each individual to stand for himself and find his own truth, seek his own path.
That is the ultimative answer for me in the end. We definitely stand against all forms of organized religion, especially coming from an extremely religious country ourselves. Therefore, there is always some mention of religion in our lyrics. Be it metaphorically or literally. We are the local Villains in the eyes of the masses and we're proud of it. Imagine the typical Hammer horror villain - that's us down here.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Black Cult'?

Well, like with the sound of the band, we wanted to make the same "message" with the name.
We don't want to be the next best thing out there, it's not about that for us. It never was and should never be like that for a real black metal band. Like it was in the early years - I think you know what I mean.
Just keep it underground, magical and for the selected few.There is one thing that we want to achive though, to keep the flame burning.Continue with the work and keep it active constantly, specially in these god forgotten lands where we live at the moment.We are the Standard bearers from the south. It's a pure black metal dedication, nothing more and nothing less.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

The best shows so far would be those we shared with our brothers from Sweden - "Stormdeath" - in our home town Rijeka. Just a few days after the new year celebration of 2015. You should definitely check them out. Our show on the local metal fest called "Dark-O fest" was also amazing. Then there was our first show as a band on the festival called "Udar Groma" and I think that some parts of it can still be found on Youtube.
That's when the magick happened, so that one was the most important for us.
Our stage performance is a ritual and a gathering. We prefer to do it on a selected location, on a predetermined time and for selected people. That's why we don't prefer touring.


6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

I already mentioned touring plans in the question above. As for future shows, there are no plans so far, as we are completely focused with the work on the new album. Although, we had plans concerning coming to Germany and Sweden and we will continue to work on the realization of those as soon as the album comes out.

7. On the album you had done a Burzum cover, what was the decision behind doing your own version of one of his songs?

The first time we talked and planned on doing cover songs we decided that if we are going do it, we are going to do only those
legendary bands that either don't play anymore or never had played live in the first place. The idea was to deliver this energy to the people that can't be experienced it anymore anywhere else or never could. This song is the best Burzum song for me and it contains the essence of the darknessof early scandinavian black metal. So the choice came like an inspiration to me. This is the song, so we did it.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?

It was very well recieved and all of the first 500 copies where sold out short upon it's release. Maybe some re-releases will follow, LP would be a very much appreciated relic among the cultists, of that we are sure.
Just the fact that three labels, two from USA and one from Russia, made co- release for "Neo-Satanism" (Satanath records, Metallic media and Black Plaque) speaks for itself. The underground black metal scene today is bigger than ever and that is a great fact.

9.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?

Most of them are on standstill as all of us focus primarily on Black Cult. Kult Perunov just released their first full length album,but others stay mostly quiet for the time being.



10.When can we expect another album and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Like I said already in the beginning of this interview, the work on the new album has already begun. The album will be finished and  unleashed upon the world sometime in early 2016.Everyone interested should follow the updates on all of our official webpages.www.blackcult.info would be the main one.
The new material will be more aggressive, darker and one step ahead of what we've done so far. That's all I can say for now.

11.What are some of the musical influences that your bring into the music of 'Black Cult'?

Mostly it's black metal, but there are other metal subgenre influences and other musical influences as well.
Inside the band we listen to all forms of metal and music in general, so don't be surprised if we bring some other influences along the way, every now and then. As long as they are dark. We keep ourselves within no boundaries when it comes to our sound and our music.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with you and your musical project these days?

Now I am working on a new album of my side project called “While They Sleep”. Soon in 2016 I hope I will release first album of this project on Satanath. It’s gonna be a pure black metal with some notes of depressive. It sounds very different then “Ildverden”.
About “Ildverden” – I have some new stuff but it is too soon to tell something about new album.

2.In October you had released a new album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?

The sound of “Ildverden” is really dark and raw I think. Actually this is the sound I’ll really wanted to make for many years. It’s more aggressive, more evil or primitive in good sense. I always wish to make sound like some kind of cave recordings. But not just copying old Norwegian black metal.

3.Your lyrics cover a great amount of Paganism themes, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in this topic?

Yes. Previous albums were almost classical pagan black metal at lyrics. I think it will be not necessary to tell more about it. But this album (2015 Black Midnight Follows Me) make step to side of misanthropic lyrics and existentialism as philosophy. This is really hard question cause lyrics are very important side of black metal. But paganism is still important part of my life even now. It transformed nowadays to something more difficult and dark form inside of me. So lyrics are too take form of something more deepest then usual pagan black.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Ildverden'?

Let’s just say that it is personal stuff.

5.In both of your musical projects, you refer to yourself as 'Human Unknown', can you tell us a little bit more about this name?

It is very simple. All of us here are just unknown human. I am a part of this abyss.

6.With this project you record everything by yourself, are you open to working with other musicians or do you prefer to work solo?

I am open to working with other people but I prefer tp work alone now. I played many years in technical death metal band called “Contemplation” with many good young musicians. But with good experience it was a hard time too. Nobody can understand whole your mind and too many musicians use music as a hobby. For me it is much more, it’s something like sense of my life. Without music emptiness inside if me feels way deeper. Using music I fill this emptiness with feelings and thoughts.  Also I am a very depressive person an I know that it is hard to other musicians to work with me.

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of pagan and black metal?

I don’t really know yet whole answer on this question. My journey is just begins. But it was a good feeling to know that many people like my music. I red some request and reviews and was really surprised about reaction on my songs. Most of them were positive. And it helps me emotionally to work more and hardest now. But I still will be working not to be pleased by someone. I just do what I do. And when I did something I can’t imagine how listeners will accept it. I don’t know even for my own what’s like it will be when it will ends.

8.What is going on with your other musical project these days?

Just told it in first question.

9.Where do you see yourself heading into as a musician in the future?

Nobody can tell the answer on questions like this I think. I hope the abyss of usual life will not eat me whole alive.

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Oh, it is too many bands that influenced me. From old Scandinavian black metal till Ukrainian, Canadian and American. Nowadays I listen very different music styles. Most of them are even not close to metal. I always try to consume something new.

11.What are some of your non musical interests?

Well, I trying to wrote some prose. Most of it are about life nowadays. About absurd of life in XXI century.
Also I’m shooting amateur horror movies, but I don’t think that it’s can be very interesting to others to know about it.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
1. I'm Tibor Terebesi from Ózd, founder of MabtherA one-man project, which started at 2009. (Ózd is a little town in Eastern-Hungary.) In the beginning I interested in electronic ambient songs. MabtherA was introduced at 2012 in the Iron and Blood CD which was issued by the Hungaryan Records. It contains a song wich was a 2 folksong-black metal transcription and called Hidegen fújnak a szelek a csitári hegyek alatt. (Cold winds at the hills of Csitar.)
At April of 2013 the first demo was born which was called "On the Infernal Path". It was issued in 2015 in a joint release of DarkEastProduction, Symbol of Domination and Metal Throne Productions.
In this summer the second MabtherA CD "The Demons Among Us" was finished. It is currently issued by me only.

2.How would you describe your musical sound?
2. I always made effort for different sounding in every CD but it is not always obtainable in my home studio. I like articulate but not crystal-clear sounding.

3.The band has been around since 2009 but so has only recorded 2 albums, can you tell us a little bit more about the gap between releases?
3. It took long time to find the sounding which is ideal for me. I like the experimentation and it takes time when I write songs and music because I let my mind and imagination creates music. After the warm response of On the Infernal Path (2013) I tried to form a band (2014) and my effort was successful but it took long time and much of energy. This year MabtherA is one-man band again but I have more time to create a new CD.

4.The lyrics cover a lot of satanic, dark and occult themes, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in these topics?
4. I interested in everything which connected to these things. I simply interested in these themes. The more I read about it the more question I have about it and I think it is the good way.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Mabthera'?
5. I had cancer in 2005. At that time I treated with operation and chemotherapy. Mabthera is part of chemotherapy. I had half year of this treating and I meet many times with this word. This half year changed my mind and my soul. I decided that I will write songs and music and I will use this word as my project's name.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

6. Our best performances was local performances but we enjoyed other performances too. I think we can produce enjoyable performances with my little faults as a beginner band.

7.Do you have any touring or show plans once the new album is released?
7. Currently we do not assume performances. The other 2 member of the band have family too, and they have to work and we don't have enough time to practice. But I still write songs and I hope we can play music together in a performance one time in the future because we enjoy live performances.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?
8. International feedback is better than domestical. Just look at who issued our demo... We thanks a lot for DarkEastProduction, Symbol of Domination and Metal Throne Productions. I think in Hungary there is no enough audience for this style of music.

9.Are any of the band members also involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?
9. I think they don't participate in other bands but I think our drummer Zsolt and bass-guitarist Gyula are good musicians and they could play in other bands too. I enjoyed to play with them very much! I am a member of the Velm band too.

10.Recently you have recorded a new album, what can fans expect musically once it is released?
10. Title of the new CD is "The Demons Among Us". It was produced only by me just as "On the Infernal Path". CD contains 9 tracks: Intro/Waves Of Oblivion/A hegy nem ereszt/The Demons Among Us/Total Earth Offensive/Occult/Outro and two transcriptions: Bathory-Call from the Grave and Bethlehem Schatten Aus der Alexander Welt. Tamás Deák sings the Waves Of Oblivion who is member of the Frost band which originates from Kazincbarcika. I think musically it is better because it is darker than the demo.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
11. Every famous black metal bands affected our music but currently I usually don't listen to music much because I write music.

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Bjorn Raudrskeggi: We were formed in February 2009, and in the beginning we played raw black metal. Over time, our music has come to acquire a distinctive sound. With the arrival of new members and the departure of older we seem to take on a new and necessary and saying goodbye to an outworn old. In 2009, we recorded a demo, which included 2 songs. Since 2011, we start concert activity, looking for our own image. In the same year, we tried to record our album, but on a number of the many reasons this was not possible, and we started recording only in 2015.



2.How would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?

Tar Kyriathan: Quiet strange quieston, honestly =). It is always easier to listen than to read the description - you can do it by buying the disc, and on our bandcamp, where the album is presented for free listening. We didn’t try to look about any band, if you mean this; we have been experimenting with the sound - because the material is far from 100-percent black metal. Some changes took place directly in the recording process, so that the work was very much lively. However, we are not fully satisfied with the sound - there is lack of experience, because for us it is the first studio recording. In the future, we will know how to do it right and how not to do, and will continue to search for our perfect sound.



3.You refer to your musical style as 'Ingrian Black Metal', can you tell us a little bit more about this term? 
Bjorn Raudrskeggi: It’s like designating the place of our creativity. Ingermanland (Ingria) – it’s our native land, native land of FV, our living area. We are very interested in the history of our region, and here is where to dive into the depth of centuries. Ingermanland is more poetical and ancient name of our region, than Saint-Petersburg and especially than Leningrad. Also, Ingrian territory is considered not only the city but the whole vast area. So we can say that it’s a country in the country.

4.The band has been around since 2009 and waited until 2015 to release an album, can you tell us a little bit more about the long wait?

Tar Kyriathan: At first, the material accumulated, changed, some songs were rejected later. In 2009, demo-version of “Broken, torn…” was recorded, but, however, it has little in common with the current sound of the band. In general, the early period of creativity was very leisurely; though I 'm playing Fimbulvinter since autumn 2014, I had the opportunity to observe the guys since the debut performance in May 2011. What I did see - it's not too serious attitude to the band almost of all musicians (except, of course, Bjorn), they have played more for themselves than for any perspective, and attempts to make a good record were very apathetic. In fact, a new period of band’s history I can call autumn 2014, when me and bassist Alex Tombstone joined FV – I don’t mean that we had done something specific, just the “new blood” is always a plus for the band during the period of stagnation. Since then, the attitude to the music became serious, some opportunities and perspectives has appeared. And with the new forces, fully completing the material , we sat down in the studio and finally recorded the debut album - someone was waiting for him for a long time.



5.Both the song lyrics and the band name deal with Norse Paganism, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in this topic?

Bjorn Raudrskeggi: As the project was founded by me, and I write almost all lyrics, so this question is more addressed to me =). I’m interested in Scandinavian paganism, mythology and traditions for the very long time, so of course it had an impact on creativity. The band's name was chosen from the Elder Edda , and, in my opinion, it very well describes the band’s way. Norse paganism is very close to me, but it is not fundamental to the band’s lyrics. Rather, they are about North, cold, primordial forces of nature and misanthropy.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

Tar Kyriathan: There were many good performances - hard to pick out something specific.

I guess I would call the concert together with the Finns Rienaus and Hell Spirit in January 2015 – the conditions were such as a full house of people on our performance (which is, unfortunately, a rarity for black metal concerts in St. Petersburg), we were able to tune the good sound, and in total it gave a great show =).

As for the scenic image - as you may have seen, at this time we don’t use corpsepaint, because we believe it is not necessary, but in the future something maybe will change. And what about the clothes - we use both classical machine-gun belts , and heavy boots , and a small amount of our own unique attributes made with ​​using bones.



7.Do you have nay touring or show plans for the future?

Tar Kyriathan: For today, 3 concerts are in plans - together with Nargaroth in February in St. Petersburg, in Arkhangelsk’s Old School Metal Massacre also in the end of February, and together with the Finns Sacrilegious Impalement in Moscow in April. If something theme will add, we’ll be glad – we rarely pass up opportunities to perform. And what about tours – yes, we want to, but now we can’t afford it.



8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black and pagan metal?

Tar Kyriathan: To some extent we can say that , yes. We were 2 times played on Internet radio in the Netherlands and 1 time in Poland , often on our facebook- page, I received good feedback on our music from people from other countries ... And the very fact that we are giving this interview for the American webzine =). So we quietly move into right direction.



9.Are any of the band members also involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?

Bjorn Raudrskeggi: Yes, our guitarist Patrik is also a bassist of the folk-formation Der Galgen - fairly well-known in narrow circles.



10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Bjorn Raudrskeggi: We would like of course to get a wider stage, and we are working in this way.

Tar Kyriathan: At the level of international fame =). Honestly, if more people will know about us, it will be better for the band. We do not consider ourselves to be a so-called true black metal band, and we do not want to be in underground forever and to splash bile to all who rises above. So we will try to promote our creativity as much as possible.



11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Bjorn Raudrskeggi: Of course, black, pagan and viking metal of early period. Such as BATHORY, BURZUM, IMMORTAL, GRAVELAND etc, fathers of genres =). Currently, I also listen to black metal, but the newer bands, because I’m interested in evolution of this genre and sub-genres now. But, unfortunately, I found too few deserving bands with interesting material and submission. Also, I listen to ambient, folk, and all that pleases the hearing =).

Tar Kyriathan: At one time it was BURZUM and early SATYRICON - the first things I heard of black metal. Than, a very long time I have to hear to the holes PAYSAGE D'HIVER – and I still believe that this project is the best of all that was ever written in the style of atmospheric black metal, despite the bad quality of the recording. Well, another of the most respected bands I will call THYRFING. And now I'm listening to a lot of things, not to bothering about the style - including a good dance music, and melodic death metal and metalcore; expect, everything what I like.



12. What are some of your non musical interests?

Bjorn Raudrskeggi: I do wood carving. Also, I like wandering the forests, fishing, the Kola North, Karelia and everything which is connected with it, and of course reading books =). And in winter, snowboarding catches my soul =).

Tar Kyriathan: Travelling, history, reading books… All interests can be combined into trips to Leningrad area - there is something to see, for example some fortresses are left from ancient times.
