Κραυγή  are  an  international  duo  with  members  from  Greece  and  Brazil  that  plays  a  very  depressive,  old  school  and  raw  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  and  self  released  2021  demo.

  Melodic  guitar  solos  and  leads  start  off  the  demo  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostyl  high  pitched  yet  depressive  black  metal  screams  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  mid  90's  and  early  2000's  influences.

  A  small  amount  of  melody  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Whispered  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  one  song  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  acoustic  guitars  and  the  main  focus  is  on  a  faster  musical  direction.

  Κραυγή  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  the  depressive,  old  school   and  raw  forms  of  black  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Greek  and  cover  dark  and  depressive  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Κραυγή  are  a  very  great  sounding  depressive,  raw  and  old  school  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  duo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Tree  Of  Life"  and  "Memories".  8  out  of  10.

  Italy's  Necrolust  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  a  satanic  and  old  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  album  "Inferno"  which  was  released  by  Art  Inferna.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style.  A  lot  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  along  with  the  vocals  also  getting  very  deep  and  demonic  sounding  at  times.

  Dark  sounding  melodies are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  and  vocals also  showing an  influence  of  death  metal  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  synths  can  also  be  heard  and  as  the  album  progresses  elements  of  thrash  metal  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  a  later  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  ritualistic  spoken  word  parts.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism,  Left  Hand  Path,  Darkness  and  Evil  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Necrolust  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  occult  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Dark  Path"  "The  Demon  In  The  Snow"  "In  The  Name  Of  Evil"  and  "Satan's  Speech".  8  out  of  10.

  In  Battle  where  a  band  from  Sweden  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  played  a  mixture  of  war,  black  and  viking  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  1997  album  which  will  be  re-issued  on  vinyl  in  April,  20121  by  Nomad  Snakepit  Productions.

  A  very  fast,  raw  and brutal  war  metal  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostyl  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  fast  Swedish  style  of  that  time  frame  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  deep  growls  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  Some  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  but  keeping  the  main  focus  on  a  more  fast  and  brutal  direction  as  well  as  one  track  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  as  the  album  progresses  and  the  newer  version  also  contains  two  bonus  live  tracks.

  On  this  recording  In  Battle  took  the  faster  forms  of  war,  black  and  viking  metal  to  create  something  that  was  very  fast,  aggressive  and  brutal  sounding  for  1997.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  a  mixture  of  Swedish  and  English  and  cover  Norse  Mythology  and  War  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  was  a  very  great  sounding  recording  from  In  Battle  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  war,  black  and  viking  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Ruler  Of  the  Northern  Sphere"  "Odhinn"  "The  nocturnal  Moon"  and  "In  Battle".  8  OUT  OF  10.

  Unapproachable  Light  are  s  solo  project  from  Chicago,  Illinois  that  plays  a  very  traditional  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2021  single  "Silver  Dawn".

  A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  song  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  track  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  All  of  the  drum  beats  are  programmed  along  with  all  of  the  vocals  being  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  as  well  as  the  recording  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  90's  influences.

  Unapproachable  Light  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  traditional  and  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  90's  to  early  200's  era.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  nature  and  mysticism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Unapproachable  Light  are  a  very  great  sounding  traditional  black  metal  solo  project  and  if   you  are  a  fan  of  this musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  single.  8  out  of  10.

  SKOTOC  are  a  solo  project  from  Greece  that  plays  an  old  school  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2021  demo  "Demon".

  An  ambient  orientated  sounding  intro  starts  off  the  demo  along  with  a  brief  use  of  ritualistic  spoken  word  parts  which  also  evolve  into  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the e arly  90's  greek  style.

  Dark  sounding  melodies  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  all  of  the  drum  beats  are  also  programmed.  Tremolo  picking  can  also  be  heard  in  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  and  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  along  with  some  slow  and  mid  tempo  sections  also  being  utilized  at  times,  when  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style.

  SKOTOC  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  old  school  sounding  and  heavily  rooted  in  the  early  90's  Hellenic  style.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  demons  and  war  themes.

  In  my  opinion  SKOTOC  are  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Ages  of  madness  N  War".  8  out  of  10.
