Mallephyr are a band from the Czech Republic that plays a mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Womb Of Wombs" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records and Murderous Production.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while spoken word parts can also be heard briefly before evolving into more angry sounding black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody and the riffs also mix in a great amount of death metal elements.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can also be heard while some tracks also bring in death metal growls along with the tremolo picking also giving the songs more of a raw feeling when they are utilized as well as the songs also b ringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as a couple of songs being very long and epic in length, as the album progresses spoken word parts also make a brief return and at times the music also brings in some dissonant structures and they also bring in an acoustic instrumental before closing the album with a heavier track.
Mallephyr plays a musical style that takes black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Misanthropy, Nihilism and Anti Religion themes.
In my opinion Mallephyr are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The temple Of Nothingness" "The Absolute War Genocide" and "Womb Of Wombs II". 8 out of 10.
