Yoth  Iria  are  a  band  from  Greece  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  occult  mixture  of  black  and  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  album  "As The  Flame  Withers"  which  will  be  released  in  2021  by  Pagan  Records.

  Melodic  riffing  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  faster  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  yet  high  pitched  sounding  black  emtal screams  and  the  tremolo  picking  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  keyboards  are  utilized  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  an  atmospheric  feeling  and  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  Greek  style.

  Elements  of  doom  metal  can  also  be  heard  in  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  along  with  some  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing.  Melodic  chants  can  also  be  heard  briefly  as  well  as  the  music  also  capturing  a  Mediterranean  atmosphere  at  times,  some  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  ritualistic  spoken  word  parts  and  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Romantic  Satanism,  Luciferian,  Hermetic  and  Occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Yoth  Iria  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  occult  black  and  doom  metal, you  should check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Great  Hunter"  "The  Mantis"  and  "The  Luciferian".8/5  out  of  10.

  Eorant  are  a  band  from  the  Siberian  region  of  Russia  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2020  album  "Gods  have  No  Home"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Casus  Belli  Musica  and  Beverini.

  Nature  sounds  and  field  recordings  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  The  riffs  also  bring  in  a  lot  of  melody  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  one  song  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  violins.  When  keyboards  are  utilized  they  also  give  the  songs  more  an  an  atmospheric  yet  epic  feeling  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  Acoustic  guitars  can  also  be  heard on  one  of  the  tracks  along  with  the  flutes  also  adding  in  elements  of  folk  music  when  they  are  utilized  briefly  on  a  couple  of  tracks  as  well  as  one  song  also  introducing  tambourine's  onto  the  recording,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  One  of  the  later  songs  is  also  an  instrumental  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  melodic  vocals  can  also  be  heard.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  legends,  journeys,  ceremonies,  rituals,  fantasy  and  nature  themes  which  also  comes  from  the  writings  of  Russian  poet  'Max  Voloshin'.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Eoront   and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Wormwood"  and  "The  Midday  Herbs".  8  out  of  10.

  Hungary's  Nagaarum  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  mixture  of  black,  doom  metal  psychedelic,  ambient  and  noise  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2020  album  "Covid  Diaries"  which  was  released  by  Aesthetic  Death.

  Ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  album  while spoken  word parts  can  also  be  heard  a  few  seconds  later  along  with  some  drum  beats,  Distorted  sounding  drones  can  also  be  heard  at  times  as  well  as  some  clean  singing  also  being  added  into  some  parts  of  the  music  and  the  slower  sections  of  songs  also  add  in  elements  of  doom  metal. 

  Grim  black  metal  screams  are  also  a  very  huge  part  of  the  recording  while  dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Some  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  all  of  the  songs  also  having  a  different  sound  from  each  other.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  psychedelic  sounding  as  well  as  adding  in  some  touches  of  noise,  aggressive  and  angry  shouts  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording, 

 Operatic  female  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly  as  well  as  all  of  the  music  also  sticks  to  a  slower  direction  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  along  with  one  song  also  adding  in  some  clear  male  vocals,  some  tracks  also  add  in  more  of  a  sci-fi  and  apocalyptic  orientated  atmosphere.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  Covid  19  pandemic.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Nagaarum  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  doom  metal, psychedelic,  ambient  and  noise,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  First  Ingredient"  and  "Liquid  Tomorrow".  8  out  of  10.

  Voreus  are  a  band  from  Germany  that  plays  a  bestial  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018 ep  "The  Proclamation"  which  will  be  re-issued  in  December,  2020  by  Sentient  Ruin  Laboratories.

  Dark  yet  ritualistic  soundscapes  and  chants  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  very  fast,  raw  and  brutal  war  metal  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking.  Vocals  also  being  in  a  mixture  of  bestial  growls  and  blackened  metal  screams  along  with  a  small  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  being  added  into  the  guitar  riffing.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  chaotic  style  along  with  the  music  also  capturing  a  very  cavernous  atmosphere  at  times  as  well  as  the  closing  track  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Voreus  plays  a  musical  style that  takes  bestial  black/death  and  war  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  death  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Voreus  are  a  very  great  sounding  bestial  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Progeny  Of  Fire"  and  "Descending  Into  The  Infernal  Abyss".  8  out  of  10.

  U.S.A's  Scour  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which shows  the  music  going  for  a  raw  and  brutal  mixture  of  black,  death  metal  and  grindcore  from  their  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2020  ep  "The  Black"  which  will  be  released  on  November  27th  by  Housecore  Records.

  Air  raid  sirens  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  chaotic  guitar  solos  and  leads  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  takes  the  music  into  a  heavier  direction.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Vocals  are a  mixture  of  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  guttural  sounding  death  metal  growls  while  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  leads.  At  times  the  faster  sections  of  the  music  also  adds  in  the  brutality  of  grindcore  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  O  of  the  tracks  is  also  an  instrumental  also  adding  in  some  classical  music  style  keyboards  and  stringed  instruments  before  closing  the  ep  with  a  heavier  track,  members  from  Hate  Eternal  and  Cannibal  Corpse  also make  guest  appearances  on  a  couple  of  songs.  The production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  anti  Christianity  and  Darkness  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Scour  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  black  metal  with  some  touches  of  thrash  metal  and  grindcore,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLIUDE  "Doom"  and  "Subprime".
